Defensive Tactics Curriculum / Use of Force & Levels of Resistance
It is the tactical goal of our instructors to provide all police officers with explicit guidance and help toward the decision making process in the use of force. Whether the use of force is verbal or physical when engaging or disengaging a subject or when there is an escalation or de-escalation of a confrontation leading to a lawful and defensible action by the officer, they need to be certain their choice is the correct one.
Police Unarmed Defense Course
The tactical course has been designed through implementation of Force/Levels of Resistance using passive and active physical handling measures handling an unarmed assailant. The officer will be trained to recognize voice changes, body language, and physical changes that may affect changing her/his level of tactics when dealing with the suspect.
Tactical Arrest Control Training
The training is designed for assailant control through physical leverage, joint control and manipulation, nerve center controls and through locking and pressure control techniques to bring the assailant into a position where she/he can be handcuffed without physical harm to the arresting officer.
